The "Katie" bag

I got this pattern a few weeks ago from an Etsy shop and have made several bags since.  I love the pleats and the belt strap makes for a great accent fabric.

Accent fabric is Sugar and Spice by Riley Blake Designs.
All Riley Blake Designs fabric.  Love the matching pouch!

Santa Cake

Last night my husband and I opened our gifts because we will be out of town for Christmas this year.  Much to my surprise, I opened an airbrush machine from my parents!  Of course I already tried it out this morning, and here is what I made.

Ceramic Tile Art

I saw this idea in a store last week and thought I would give it a try.
It turned out great and would make a great inexpensive gift.

Key chains

Key chains...

I thought these turned out really great!  I am even looking into getting involved in a craft fair.  There is one coming up in the Salt Lake City area in a couple weeks that is free, which would be a great place to start.

Each one only takes about 10 minutes to make!

Polka dot pouch

I made this cute little black and white pouch to go with my black/white/red tote bag.  It is so easy to make, i think I'll make one to go with all my bags!

Starlight Starbright

I love how the white stars "POP" out of the red fabrics!  I quilted this one using a paisley pattern and it turned out quite well.  I'm so glad I learned how to machine quilt, it sure gives quilts another dimension than just straight line stitching does.

Just a peek at the back.

All folded up and ready for winter.

I'm blushing!

Love this quilt!  The fabric is Blush by Basic Grey for Moda Fabrics.  The quilt measures 62" x 62".
I quilted it just in an outline around the pinwheels.

I love the colors and the different patterns in the fabrics.

I wasn't thrilled with the white stitching on the back that I had chosen at first, but all finished I think it pops and looks just right!  (Thankfully my sewing has gotten a lot better so my lines are pretty straight :-))

All Star

Just finished putting the quilt label on tonight.  I can't wait to use it, of course it needs to cool off below 95 degrees in order for that to happen, but I'm ready when it does!

First quilt label I have made.  I colored it with crayons and then hand sewed it on.

All rolled up, ready to be put away for the next couple of months.

Scrapbook Box

I got this box at Archiver's, put it together, painted it, and decorated it.
It's a great box for my scrapbook tools!

Scrap fabric wreath

I saw this tutorial on Rachel's P.S. I Quilt blog and thought it would be a great way to use up most of my scraps from other projects!

I thought this small welcome sign was a great touch.

If you would like to make one of your own, just follow this link to the Moda bake shop http://www.modabakeshop.com/2009/11/fabric-wreath.html

Sale!

So, my  local quilt shop Thimbles and Threads sent out an email last night of their 30% off everything in the store sale!  Of course I had to go first thing this morning to check it out.  So now I have a new purse pattern (cause you can never have too many cute bags!), fabric to make the bag, fabric to make a Christmas wall hanging, and fabric to make a red/white quilt!

One more week of summer break means lots of time for sewing and scrapbooking!

Holiday Inspiration

I have been wanting to make something for every season and I finally found what I was looking for to do it!  I found this stand at my local quilt shop Thimbles and Threads.

I started with Halloween because those were the colors of scraps that I had to see if I liked how it was going to turn out.

I used my cricut machine to cut out the shapes.

So...What do you think?  I think they might be even better if I were to use a "line" of fabrics but I didn't want to get that involved if it didn't turn out as I wanted it.

All Star

This fabric is All Star by Rileigh Blake Designs.  She is quickly becoming one of my favorite fabric designers.  Love the orange and blue combination, and even better I got it on sale!

Half triangles finished, ready to be trimmed, all 140 of them!

Finished top.  It actually turned out a bit larger than what I had anticipated so I had to take a break and go to the quilt shop to get another yard of fabric.

Pinned and rolled up ready to be quilted!

Finished Frolic

Finally finished this quilt!  This is the one my sewing machine broke on as soon as I started quilting it before Christmas.  I received a few quilting stencils for Christmas from my sister so I tried one of them out on this quilt.  This is my first free motion quilt and it wasn't as terrifying as I thought it might be!

Of course I did have to rip this block out 4 times before I finally got it right!

This one shows up a little better on the lighter fabric.

All rolled up!
